FARM STAND

“For many, the Covid-19 pandemic brought food insecurity. Obtaining and storing food became difficult. My paintings of fresh produce grew into a farm stand. I applied bright-colored gouache to 5”x 5” recycled brown paper bags with quick, loose and florescent signage used by farmers and reminiscent of what I had seen as a child at the Amish’s wooden farm stands in Lancaster, PA. I have since expanded the work to 55”x 55” paintings on paper and large, soft sculptures. For 50 years, I have been an abstract painter. This “Farm Stand” series has helped me get through this difficult time. “
